This pain balm may be applied with marvellous effect in headache, backache, pain in the joints or other parts of the body. For relieving congestion of the chest in pnemonia, influenza, pleurisy with effusion etc., it forms an ideal external application which proves to be decidedly better than all forms of heavy poultices. Used as an inhalent it restores conciousness in high fevers, fits, convulsions etc., It is a resolvent of plague buboes and also acts with success in sprains and swellings of rheumatism.
